Give the next generation tools to become warriors
IT'S TIME TO BE PROACTIVE!!!
&
NOT REACTIVE.
TRAGEDIES HAPPEN IN & OUTSIDE OF SCHOOLS ACROSS THE US
EVERY DAY.
These students need a change to their core curriculum. They deserve to have the education system focus on THEM! Embedding social and emotional learning at the core level will help students stay focused, motivated, and inspired. It will allow them to manage stress, employ coping strategies, respect themselves and others, and believe they can achieve anything.
It will teach them how to handle real-life situations and empower them to speak up and/or ask for help. It puts ownership on each student for their behavior and teaches them natural consequences.
According to the National Center for Education Statistics, 56.4 million students attend elementary, middle, and high schools across the United States.
It's time to stop ignoring their cries for help and let them know
we hear them,
we see them,
we support them,
&
we will stand with them.
Are you ready?
We might not be able to stop it but knowing how to handle it properly is half the battle. Hold your head high because you matter.
No matter the type of abuse:
* Physical * Sexual
* Abandonment * Mental
* Self - Harming
These affect every childs ablitliy to focus on class work & homework.
Peer Influence vs Peer Pressure can be hard at times to decipher.
Our youth should be able to be given the tools to know the difference and stand up for what they think is key to their success.
Did you know that children that do live in poverty have a higher risk of being absent in school or having to leave their school all together due multiple reasons that may include:
*Helping provide income to the family.
*Caring for a family member.
*Loss of their home or having to move.
*etc...
This in turn can make a child feel singled out and set to fail without the right support and empowerment.
This is a silent epidemic.
Did you know that 1 and 5 students show signs or symptoms each year, yet many have to struggle through class because they are either unheard, scared or pushed off to someone else.
When does their voices matter?
